Tienanmen Mountain Road: Fabio Baroni’s new record
04 Nov 2016Most people know Fabio Baroni as the president of the Ferrari Club Passione Rossa, the biggest association of Ferraris’ fans. Based in Rome but working on a national level, this “brotherhood” has organised over 500 events since it was born 18 years ago and each event was directed by Baroni.
His successes as a driver are, though, still not so famous even though he has broken the guinnes record many times. Last September he broke the speed record on a road that is considered the most dangerous in the world: the Tienanmen Mountain Road. He has driven along the road in 10’31”945, in spite of height, cliffs and bends where we would not even walk. His companion in this adventure was Ferrari 458 Italia, modified for the occasion with a lifted structure, softened suspensions and other technical details.
Baroni had already beaten a guinness speed record in the past on the Romanian Transfagarasan, commonly known as the most beautiful road in the world. The passion for Ferrari, as we can see, is not linked to money but it has got a deeper and stronger root in our souls. This is the real power of Maranello.
