Renault Trezor

19 Oct 2016

This concept was presented at the Paris Motor Show in the end of September and it has been probably cornered and overwhelmed by many other models’ presentation to the public such as Audi Q5 and BMW X2. Renault Trezor deserves anyway a closer look especially because of its futuristic design that leads the French firm into a totally new dimension.

Under a technical point of view, keywords are power source and automatic driving system. Power source is produced thanks to two different batteries located in the front and in the back of the car in order to distribute a balanced weight. They produce 260 xW (350 horsepower) that is enough to guarantee an acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 4 seconds. The automatic driving system is more a promise rather than reality since Renault has announced that it will not be available until 2020. In the Trezor model it is supported by other two systems i.e. neutral and sport.

The most surprising thing is, however, the bold futuristic design: silver car body with hexagon texture, round lines, ruby windscreen and comfortable cabin which comes out upwards and it is necessary to step over the car side in order to get in. A touch screen display is inserted into a red wooden panel and it assures a better view of the road.

Renault Trezor is a concept destined to remain as such. But we do not know how many of its technical and stylistic solutions will be actually used and included in Renault’s future models. It is needless to say that it definitely walks a very unexpected path which is worth following at least in the news.
