Parco Valentino, the open air car show in Turin

10 Jun 2016

From the 8th to the 12th of June, Turin has hosted the second edition of Parco Valentino – Salone e Gran Premio, an open air car show.

This event has become very famous and appreciated because of his unique and peculiar features which make it one of a kind. First of all the location is amazing.
Valentino park, a huge green public area in the core of Turin by the shores of the biggest Italian river, is an attraction itself and constitutes a beautiful frame for beautiful cars. These vehicles are exposed according to a standard layout, which means that there is no difference between the stands of Lamborghini and Renault except for the car itself, of course. The entrance is free and the park is open from 10 a.m. to midnight, which makes this event very peculiar since anyone can literally be part of it.

Expositors have really enjoyed this new formula because, among other things, it can decrease costs as well as increase the visibility of these cars also outside the very small elite that can afford them.

There were more than 43 car companies and eight world previews were introduced to the public within this event including the famous Abarth 595, together with other eighteen Italian previews.

Moreover, people were allowed to try cars on three different tracks: in the city, on the highway and in the countryside. The closing event was the so called Gran Premio Parco Valentino, a car parade that included very original and innovative vehicles like, for instance, some concept cars.

We do not know whether the half million visitors goal was reached or not, but it is undoubtedly true that this experience is really worth living.
